Data access and deletion

Remind users and customer administrators can request access to or deletion of personal data processed by Remind.

Delete an individual reminder

Users can delete or cancel reminders through the Reminders interface in Microsoft Teams: Using the Reminders tab

Request account, user or tenant deletion

Email privacy@teamsreminder.app from the address associated with your Microsoft account and include:

  • “Data deletion request” in the subject;
  • your Microsoft tenant/organization name;
  • the user account to which the request relates;
  • whether you request deletion of one user or an entire tenant; and
  • enough information to locate the account without including reminder text or other sensitive data.

Do not send passwords, authentication codes or complete reminder content by email.

We verify the requester’s identity and authority before acting. Tenant-wide requests must be submitted or confirmed by an authorized Microsoft 365 administrator. If your organization controls the relevant data, we may direct you to its administrator and assist the organization with its response.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge verified privacy requests within 5 business days.
  • We complete valid requests without undue delay and normally within one month where the GDPR applies.
  • Active Customer Content is deleted from production systems within 30 days after a verified deletion instruction, unless law requires retention.
  • Deleted information may remain in access-restricted encrypted backups until the backups rotate, no longer than 90 days. It is not restored to active use except during disaster recovery, after which the deletion is reapplied.
  • Billing and transaction records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting and fraud-prevention law.

Access, correction and portability

Use the same process to request access, correction, restriction or a portable copy where applicable. We may ask for additional information needed to verify identity and prevent disclosure to an unauthorized person.
